This past weekend was the Readymade Rocks party at SXSW. As I mentioned in the previous post, I had entered a poster contest to win a trip to SXSW and have my work on display at this party. I didn’t win the trip to Austin but I was one of the finalists picked to have their work on display at the party. There were 200 entries so I’m pretty honored to have been a finalist.
I unfortunately was unable to go; however, I have a few friends that were able to check out the party and take a few pictures for me. Here is a picture of my friend/former roommate Sam in front of my poster.
Sam also has a bunch of my business cards. I’m told that he was going to hide some around the venue, but I lol’d when I saw that he did this
Also, if you get a chance, check out my friend Sam’s project Hard Gravel. You will not be disappointed
I discovered Creative Allies while reading ReadyMade Magazine’s blog. This past month the magazine sponsored a contest on Creative Allies entitled “How Does Music Inspire You?” 12 finalist will have their work on displayed at ReadyMade’s Party and the winning poster will receive a trip for 2 to Austin, TX for the party.
I was very inspired by this contest, not only because of the trip to Austin, but because my work is very inspired by Music. Music and Design go hand in hand for me. I started by doing some research on bands that will be at SXSW and music/style that is commonly associated with Austin, TX. From there I created these posters
This year I decided to make christmas cards and send them to all of my friends. I don’t know what came over me but I got a very strong urge to hand embroider every single one of them. Each card took about 1-2 hours to create. Made 7 today, will make 5 more tomorrow. This is true love for my friends!
For those of you who don’t know, I have been interning with Armchair Media for the past few months. It has been an amazing experience working with such a talented group of individuals. I am very grateful to be working at this firm.
this is a video of two of my college roommates. It portrays them perfectly. After watching, imagine what it would be like to live with them. Awesome. Thank you Trevor for the amazing video
