In the winter of 2008, I took an Art History class in australia. This was my first time traveling to another part of the world. I went to Sydney and Melbourne and traveled along the great ocean road. It was an amazing experience and I learned so much for only being there for two weeks. These are a few pages from my journal that I kept while over there.
“The Sun did not know how beautiful its light was, until it was reflected off this building”-Louis Kahn
The Sydney Opera House. You can’t go to Australia without seeing this. Pictures do not show the true beauty of this historical piece of art. The time I went to Australia was shortly after the death of Jorn Utzon, the Architect of the Opera House. He had a very interesting life, I won’t go into detail about it but I do suggest visiting the Opera House website to learn more.
This was an advertisement that i kept seeing about Sydney. It was for an exhibition. Seems kind of odd…but I like it.
Yinka Shonibare MBE had an exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
This was in Melbourne. My group went on a bike tour of the city. Brunetti was a coffee shop that was located all around the fitzroy area, they had the best ice coffee ever.

Rennie Ellis is a famous photographer who focused a lot on the behaviours of society in the 1970′s and 1980′s, really interesting exhibition
Looking at this entries makes me want to go back. I’ll update some more entries and some interesting ads. from australia later.
